It was a wonderful privilege to photograph this wedding the Summer before last (now very belatedly appearing on our public website!), for two people who are not just clients but friends. Even more so than during their engagement shoot I marvelled at how these two kids I used to know, grew up to be these wonderful adults, by God’s grace. It was also evident how much family and friends played a role in their lives, shaping who they are and bringing them to this point. And how blessed we were to still be able to gather and celebrate in the midst of a pandemic (before the next wave came), forgetting for a little while, and rejoicing in the moment. The wedding day is just the start of the journey, but I hope these photos will be a reminder of what a good start it was!

We had the privilege of photographing Tyson and Renee’s wedding on a perfect Autumn afternoon in late May, surrounded by friends and family. We are doubly grateful that it all went ahead smoothly in these times. James and Sarah’s wedding was a family affair, with grandmas and aunts, mums and dads, as well as siblings, all chipping in to put it together – from the dress to the wedding cake! Not to mention friends playing their part to help with hair styling, catering, decorating and more! What a beautiful testimony to what James and Sarah mean to those around them. It was a joy to photograph the wedding of Will and Xerri, more than a year ago now, but belatedly appearing here! As you can imagine we attend a lot of weddings, whether as guests or photographers (or both!), but it remains so special each time we photograph those wedding vows, those looks between bride and groom, the joy between the couple when we are taking their portraits, and the emotion of the wedding speeches. Weddings often grant that opportunity to say the things we forget to say on a day to day basis and Will and Xerri’s wedding brought out lots of those heartfelt and tear-inducing moments. We are grateful to have been part of that special day, and pray for God’s blessing on a lifetime of days together.

Chris and Alice were married on a beautiful spring day in Sydney, surrounded by family and friends. From the start we knew it would be both an emotional and laughter filled day (of course every wedding is, but if you do a tissue count you’ll see what we mean). Chris and his groomsmen brought lots of laughs as they shared jokes and goofy games throughout the day, but the groom did not shy away from the raw emotion of the day either, as he spoke of his family and his new bride. It’s always a special privilege to see family bonds reflected on and new ones forged afresh on these occasions, as we are invited into an intimate setting as ‘strangers’ but trusted as friends to capture it all. Also worth mentioning was the gorgeous garden surrounds of the location photos and reception, providing a beautiful, lush backdrop both outside and inside. Topped off with some soft afternoon light it couldn’t have been more perfect. We hope the images below go just a little way towards remembering and cherishing the day that was, and more importantly, the marriage that is!

On a beautiful April day, Dan and Erina exchanged vows in front of all their family and friends. As always, we felt privileged to witness and document such a significant occasion for them. The day went smoothly, with a good dose of laughs, and the bride and groom exuded a sense of calm and relaxation throughout, no doubt partly due to the bride’s clear vision for what she wanted on the day. A perfect combination of relaxed vibes and well-planned details!

We were delighted to photograph the wedding of Ben and Peri on a warm
December day last year. It was wonderful to see their joy in getting married
and watch family and friends share in that joy. We never tire of seeing those
expressions on the bride and groom’s face as they say their vows and exchange
their rings, kiss, and then the exuberance when it’s all done and they are
officially married. Everything has been leading up to this moment. It’s also
fun for us to see the difference between the engagement photos and the wedding
photos – bride and groom infinitely more relaxed, even more in love.

A perfect Spring day dawned for the wedding of Peter and Monica, a big contrast to the drizzly and cold afternoon of their engagement photos! A calm excitement set the mood for the morning as everyone got ready for the big event. The expressions on everyone’s faces as Monica arrived at the church and made her way down the aisle were, as always, wonderful to capture – the anticipation and the emotion of the big moment approaching. Surrounded by family and friends, Pete and Monica exchanged their vows and then it was done, they were married, and so, so happy. We felt privileged to be part of not just that moment but the whole day as they celebrated committing their lives to one another. May God bless them in their new journey doing life together.

We hope these photos are just a small reminder of the day that was and the promises that live on.

Colourful fabric bunting and glowing fairy lights adorned the modern concrete interior of the church; crisp white walls were washed with sun from the skylight above. The space was beautiful, light and airy (a photographer’s dream) but the space didn’t matter as much as who was there and what was said.

We always love those moments captured where a bride and her father are trying to keep a wobbly smile on their face coming down the aisle, while the emotions of the moment roll through them. Or the moment when its all done, the vows are said, the kiss is past and huge goofy grins on the bride and groom’s faces say it all. We hope these moments and many others captured below bring back special memories for years to come.

A sunny winter’s day dawned for the wedding of Chris and Erin. Surrounded by family and friends, they promised to love and honour each other until parted by death. As always we felt it was a special privilege to be a part of their day.

Listening to their story, we discovered that Erin had a bit of a crush on Chris long before they dated, but thought nothing would come of it. Yet Chris noticed Erin too in his own time, and how could he not! In Chris and Erin God has brought together two people from different parts of the world but with the same mind for where life is leading them. We’re thankful to have been a little part of their story for just a brief moment in time!
